I am a non-EU student, what should I know about my application?

At Flink, we are excited to offer job opportunities for students, including those from outside the EU/EEA. If you are a non-EU student and interested in working with us, please ensure that you have the following necessary documents ready.

1. Required documents for non-EU students:

  • NLD residence ("Studie")
  • Valid passport (the document has to be valid for at least the upcoming 3 months)
  • BSN number (that's a mandatory number to live and work here in the Netherlands)
  • Bank card (the card has to have visible IBAN and name together)

2. Work permit application process:

As a non-EU/EEA student, your profile must first be submitted to the UWV (Dutch Government) for approval. Here's how the process works:

  • Application submission: Once we have your documents, we will submit your application to the UWV. This typically takes around 48 hours.
  • Processing time: The UWV generally takes around 6-8 weeks to process the application.
  • Work hours limit: As a student, you are allowed to work a maximum of 16 hours per week. Exceeding this limit could jeopardize your employment.
  • Existing work permit: If you already have an active student work permit for another job, please be aware that it may lead to a rejection of your application.

3. What happens after your application?

Once your application is submitted, you will receive an update from us. If the UWV approves your application, we will inform you of the next steps. However, if the work permit request is rejected, you will receive an email detailing the reason for the rejection.

Please make sure that all your documents are correct and up-to-date before applying to avoid delays.

We look forward to working with you! If you have any question or need further clarification, feel free to reach out.
